Match RULES: We are following 3 Gun Nation rules for 2017. Safety is most important and our first concern at all matches and the majority of DQ’s happen when shooters are unfamiliar with the basic rules. We strongly suggest reading the rules to get an overview and understand the equipment and whats expected at the match. All Long Guns are required to have chamber flags in them at all times. Do not Un Bag your firearms at the cars to rack in your carts, use the safe tables located though out the competition range area.
Divisions Honored for 2017: The matches honor the following 3-Gun Nation Divisions. Practical, Factory, Unlimited, Practical PCC and Unlimited PCC. Please note that Heavy Optic and Heavy Sport are not being offered at this time.
Stages (Round Counts & Layout):
- The July 2nd match will consist of 7 stages and is our 3rd match of the season. We also welcome those interested in 3-gun to come out and see how much fun it can be. For this match we will be using the pistol comp bays for all our stages and the 300 yard rifle range. We will be shooting (2) 3-Gun Nation classifiers stages at this match and we will be allowing re-shoots and alternate Division shoots, There will be a $5.00 charge for each classifier re-shoot and or alternate division to shoot the classifier.
One of the exciting things in 3-gun is the option for the competitor to choose which firearm they will use in a stage. The option to use rifle, pistol or shotgun at each stage is shooter choice except when designated in the stage briefing. Certain targets will be designated for specific firearms only in the match and stage briefing.
Stage layouts: A review of the video links above will provide a look at the types of stages we have at out matches. We will not be posting stage layouts before the matches. However, we will be notifying registered shooters of the target list for each stage. [example: Stage 01: (6) Clays – Birdshot, (7) 8″ KD steel – Pistol or birdshot, etc…]
For those wishing to get an earlier glimpse of the stage layouts you have 2 simple options. The first is to come help setup, you not only get to see them you get a lot of time to walk through them. The second option is to come out early and walk them before the match begins. Because of time restraints on match day Each squad is limited to 5 minutes once your squad R/O has arrived and the previous squad has moved on.
Estimated Round Counts: As noted under stage layouts we provide registered shooters a stage target list prior to the match. However pre-planning can begin with the following. Because of shooter choice we suggest bring double the rounds for Pistol & Rifle so you have options and an extra 25 rounds or more is suggested for shotgun, the spinner can eat up those extra shotgun rounds.
Pistol: Pistol round counts are based on (2) rounds for paper and (1) round for steel. We currently estimate an average of 20 rounds per stage. (Handgun will be 9mm Minimum)
AR Rifle/Carbine: Rifle round counts are based on (2) rounds for paper and (1) round for long range steel (100 yards plus). We currently estimate an average of 16 rounds per stage. (No steel core or rounds that can damage steel targets allowed)
Shotgun: Shotgun round counts are based on (1) round per clay or steel and 4 rounds for the spinner. We currently estimate an average of 14 rounds per stage. (12, 16 & 20 gauge lead shot only in 6, 7-1/2, 8 and 9) Plus ( 10 Slugs ) * absolutely no steel shot allowed*
Each match we are looking for Lead Squad RO’s to signup to run a squad. If you are interested in being a Lead Squad RO please contact us we offer a discounted registration fee for those who signup and are accepted to run a squad. Contact Tom through this link if interested.
